Monday November 20, 2006 - Black Bros. Goes Lean

Mendota, IL – Lean Manufacturing was introduced to Black Bros. Co. in November 2006. This new concept gave Black’s a preview into the future to re-establish a foundation for continuous company growth.  After having adopted “Lean” theory, Black Bros. and its Associates had the opportunity to be involved in training, group discussions and a staged simulation of what “Lean Manufacturing” conveys and offers to businesses and employees.

Lean is described as “eliminating waste,” and that’s exactly what Black Bros. intends to implement. Non-value added waste that accumulates throughout the years is definitely a key ingredient of why the concept “Lean” is put into operation at companies.  The Lean theory is a never ending process that is not the outcome of a one time effort, but the cumulative result of a designed and focused routine to strengthen the entire company.

“We continue to apply “Lean” processes throughout Black Bros. The “Leaner” our Associates become, the more we can achieve as a world class designer of roll coating and laminating technology,” said Matt Carroll, President and CEO.
